DESCRIPTION:Garrett College Continuing Education and Workforce Development has scheduled a forklift certification training course on October 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northern Outreach Center in Grantsville. Time frame may be lengthened or shortened due to class size. This course is designed to teach one how to properly operate an industrial powered forklift. The course satisfies 29 CRF 1910.178 of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration?s (OSHA) Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training Standard. Participants will receive formal training in the classroom\, practical training with hands-on instruction\, and an evaluation upon completion of training. Upon successful completion\, participants will receive a certificate of training and a wallet card. Topics include the following: pre-inspection\, loading and unloading\, maneuvering and operational skills\, rules and regulations\, and an emphasis on safety.
