SUMMARY:Maryland Open - State Canoe and Kayak Championships
DESCRIPTION:The Maryland Open is a canoe slalom event featuring Junior (15-18) and U 23's (19-23) from around the world.  It will be a warm-up for the ICF Junior and U23 World Championships being held In July in Wausau\, WI.  The competition will be a double event also serving as the Maryland State Championship.\n\n\n\nCanoe Slalom is the art of paddling a closed deck canoe through a series of gates in a whitewater venue. Canoeing uses a single blade paddle and the paddler kneels in the boat\, while a kayaker sits in the boat and uses a double bladed paddle.  These races will feature both styles in men's and women's categories.
