DESCRIPTION:Discover the important connection between native plants\, people\, and wildlife at this sixth annual event! A large variety of plants native to the mid-Atlantic will be available for sale (cash or check only) from these regional plant nurseries: Wood Thrush Native Plant Nursery\, Floyd\, VA\; Evergreen Heritage Center\, Mount Savage\, MD\; Go Native Tree Farm\, Lancaster\, PA\; and the Allegany County Forestry Board\, Flintstone\, MD. Orders may also be placed in advance for pick-up the day of the event from some vendors. In addition to the plant sale there will be family-friendly outdoor activities and educational programs for adults\, that highlight native plants and biodiversity. Guest speakers include: Vanessa Beauchamp\, Professor of Biology\, Towson University\; Candy DeBerry\, Professor of Biology\, Washington & Jefferson College\; and Linda Harris\, Conservation Chair\, Mountain Laurel Garden Club. Experts from local organizations will also be available to answer questions on native plants and other conservation topics. These include: Engage Mountain Maryland\, University of Maryland Extension - Garrett County Master Gardeners\, Friends of New Germany State Park\, Maryland Conservation Corps\, Evergreen Heritage Center\, and Maryland Native Plant Society.
