Genealogy is considered as one of the nation?s fastest growing hobbies. This course is full of new concepts, techniques, and ideas to get you started to a fulfilling lifetime of tracing one?s family tree. Lessons will include genealogy basics, family and home sources, learn how to read and understand records and census information, and investigating vital records. In addition, students will be shown computer as well as book research. The course is being taught by Christy Denham, who teaches the subject at West Virginia University and also works at the West Virginia and Regional History Collection. This is a four-session course.
