The first Business Before Hours of the new year, sponsored by First United Trust & Investments is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15 at 8 am at Dutch's at Silver Tree. The topic will be an Economic Update with guest speaker Raymond E. Owens, III, Research Advisor and Senior Economist at the Richmond Federal Reserve Bank.
Ray has been on the Research staff at the Richmond Federal Bank since 1983. He has headed the Bank's Regional Economics section and currently serves as a research advisor and senior economist as well as a member of the Bank's monetary policy group. Ray focuses on analyzing national and regional economic conditions.
In an effort to avoid the "fiscal cliff", significant changes to federal taxes and federal government spending are being made that impact all of us.
