I'll be hiking the Poplar Lick Run trail and we'll be laying a memorial wreath at the site of Major Robert Payne's death from the Buzz14 B52 crash on Jan 13th 1964.
The hike is a one-way circuit and we'll have another vehicle parked at the southern end which can shuttle two people back to the northern trailhead. The overall hike is about 6 miles and there are multiple stream crossings.
Or, you can hike along with us as far as you like and turn back. The memorial marker is about midway on the trail, so you'll be doing 6 miles whether you do the one-way or out-and-back.
