Garrett College in coordination with the University of Maryland Extension is sponsoring a one-session course, Fairy Gardens – Demonstration or Build Your Own, at the Garrett College Northern Outreach Center in Grantsville. Class will be held on Thursday, November 10, 1 -3 p.m. According to www.FairyGardening.com a fairy garden is a miniature garden complete with structures and actual living plants. It is designed to give one’s green thumb a place to tend year-round and to lure fairies and with them, good luck, to his or her home. It's a tiny space created and tended with love. Make your own miniature garden to take home with you during this class and see what all the excitement is about. The course is being instructed by Ashley Bodkins who received her Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy from West Virginia University and an associate degree in horticulture from Potomac State College. She works for the University of Maryland Extension where she answers home horticulture questions and coordinates the Maryland Master Gardener Program for Garrett County. The University of Maryland Extension programs are open to any person and will not discriminate against anyone because of race, age, sex, color, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, religion, ancestry, national origin, marital status, genetic information, political affiliation, and gender identity or expression.
