In the days leading up to Mother’s Day, construction crews of female volunteers will raise their hammers at Habitat for Humanity construction sites across the country in recognition of National Women Build Week, April 30 through May 8. Lowe’s and Garrett County Habitat for Humanity are looking for local women to volunteer for a day at the Hopeland Village construction site. Construction or home improvement experience is not necessary. This is the third year for Garrett County Habitat for Humanity’s participation in National Women Build Week.
Hopeland Village is located near Deer Park and off the Broadford Road at Frank Custer Road about 300 yards northwest of the Broadford Road/Rt. 135 intersection. Lowe’s will also be conducting a Training and Safety class at the Oakland store on Saturday, April 30th at 10:00 AM. To volunteer or donate to this project, please call 301.533.0600, email habitat@garrettcac.org or visit www.garretthfh.org.
