This fun wildflower pilgrammage takes place along the Kendall Trail in the Youghiogheny Wild and Scenic River Corridor. This walk will be fun for all ages and the pace is mellow. The whole family will especially enjoy getting out in nature for a stroll and look at the spring flowers. If you like photography you will have plenty of scenic subjects to capture, from river scenes, to flowers, to lichens, mosses etc.
Your guide is West Virginia University Professor and Director of the WVU Core Arboretum, Zach Fowler, PHD. Zach is a great friend of ours and an easy going teacher with a vast wealth of the river and forest ecology, plants and animals. You are sure to come away with a new nformation and better grasp of our local wildflowers.
You don't need any experience and we will have fun looking for the fleeting ephemeral flowers. We will of course also be looking for birds, frogs and specifically warblers on spring migration and water birds like green herons and mergansers etc.
