Garrett College Continuing Education & Workforce Development will host a Regulations Professional Seminar, an Important New OSHA Regulations Update, on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon in Room 205 in the Continuing Education building at the McHenry campus of Garrett College. This presentation seminar will provide an overview of 29CFR Part 1904 of the OSHA Recordkeeping Regulation. The presentation will present the basics of the regulation going step-by-step through major sections in the rule. Included will be an activity of injury and illness case scenarios determining if each case should be recorded on the OSHA log based on the principles presented. Steve Bisson, presenter of this seminar, is an administrator with the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Division of Labor and Industry. He has been working with occupational safety and health statistics including providing training for the OSHA recordkeeping regulation for over 26 years. He is the program manager for the Maryland Division of Labor and Industry's Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Injury and Illness Statistics Programs and functions as a principal adviser to the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health agency on the recordkeeping regulation. Bisson is currently part of a work group tasked by federal OSHA to develop a new injury tracking web application.
