Under the leadership of the B&O Committee, the 1884 station has undergone a historically accurate restoration and now serves as a museum complete with rotating exhibits, interactive activities and gift shop. The Committee would like to welcome everyone to the newest museum in Oakland and thank all those who contributed time, effort, and funding to make this possible.
The event will start at the box car stage with special guests, followed by the ribbon cutting. The public will be allowed to tour the station museum and at 3:00 Tom Biery, President of the Western Maryland Chapter of the National Railway Society will present Western Maryland B&O history held in the baggage room. Model railroads will also be displayed.
